VAM Analysis Service
The VAM takes the pulse of the on-load tap-changer – MR provides the diagnosis
The condition of the on-load tap-changer is critical for the operation of your transformers. Using vibro-acoustic measurements (VAM), you get meaningful data at an early stage. VAM records characteristic vibration signals that an on-load tap-changer emits during a tap-change operation. The installed MSENSE® VAM monitoring system, measurements taken on site by the MR TESSA® VAM service or your own devices, such as TESTRANO 600 from OMICRON, provide the data.

Functional Scope
Creating meaningful diagnoses from the measured vibration signals is challenging and requires a detailed understanding of the switching sequences of on-load tap-changers. As the leading global manufacturer of on-load tap-changers, MR and its experts have unique knowledge in order to interpret VAM data thoroughly.
The VAM ANALYSIS SERVICE from MR provides this knowledge in the form of a detailed report with information on the condition of the on-load tap-changer, as well as handling recommendations. The reports can be requested quickly and easily using the MR customer portal.
