We are MR

"Superior solutions for manufacturers and operators of critical equipment for regulating the load flow and power quality in resilient power grids." (MR mission statement)

Leader in global energy technology

MR has an important job in the transmission and distribution of electrical energy: 50% of the electricity produced worldwide is regulated using our products. Founded in Regensburg, Germany, in 1868, we are a majority family-owned business, already in our sixth generation. Currently, around 3,500 employees work at the Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH headquarters in Regensburg as well as in 45 associated companies and 28 countries.

We help our global customers – energy producers, public and industrial grid operators and transformer manufacturers – with intelligent systems to regulate load flow and power quality for a safe, economical and resilient power supply. We provide high-quality products such as on-load tap-changers and de-energized tap-changers, innovative sensors, automation technology and analytics. As well as an increasing number of digital solutions.

Always leading the pack

Always leading the pack

Since the company's founding in 1868, we have always been a step ahead of the competition in terms of technology. Our inventions have caught on globally and set the standard in energy technology to this day. The VACUTAP® on-load tap-changer, TAPCON® voltage regulator, ETOS® transformer operating system, MTraB® intelligent dehydrating breather and TESSA® asset performance management are five examples from our innovative product range that set the standard globally and are therefore rightly sold under the MR brand.

MR technology supports digital transformation in China

China has also seen a surge in online purchases during the Corona pandemic, necessitating an expansion of its IT infrastructure. Alibaba therefore built its largest cloud computing data center in East China to date in Nantong last year. In the final expansion stage, 300,000 servers are to work here. Three substations secure the power supply to the data center. Our subsidiary MR China supplies six VACUTAP® on-load tap-changers for the project to always ensure stable voltage conditions.

Condition Assessment of Power Transformers

The average age of installed transformers is increasing all over the world. Furthermore, as an operator, you are faced with new challenges such as higher and fluctuating transformer loads from renewable energies, higher probabilities of equipment failure, and a lack of information about the condition of your transformers. In order to enable cost-effective management of a transformer fleet, we have developed FLEETSCAN 2D ˗ a two-dimensional approach for precise condition assessment. Our recommendations for action supports you in the optimum allocation of resources and budgets.

New location: Reinhausen Middle East expands service activities

Reinhausen Middle East (RME) was founded in 2006 as a 100% subsidiary of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen in Dubai and has been known as a high-quality service provider for on-load tap-changers ever since. Over the years, the colleagues have continuously expanded their portfolio. Besides premium OLTC service, RME offers comprehensive transformer services and automation solutions. To meet this growth, RME has moved and changed its company form.

Taiwan Power Company chooses online DGA monitoring from Reinhausen

Taiwan Power Company (TPC) has been using online oil analysis equipment to monitor the condition of its transformer fleet for many years. However, the old systems are inefficient and are now very susceptible to failure. For the new DGA monitoring, TPC wanted a powerful system and therefore chose MSENSE® DGA from MR.
