More Information
Routine services are used to ensure the availability of your transformer and should therefore be performed regularly. Preventative maintenance measures can be performed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations or based on condition. This means that your transformer is always in top condition. Faults that arise are detected early and can thus be corrected according to a plan. As a result, unplanned emergency repairs are avoided, which ensures long-term and error-free transformer operation.
If your transformer is damaged despite routine service, we offer the appropriate repair solutions depending on your needs and regardless of manufacturer. Thanks to our experienced service technicians in 21 service subsidiaries, we can carry out maintenance and repair work on your transformers around the world. Whether fixing leaks, removing corrosion and rust, doing welding and painting work or replacing components, we are your expert contact.
Visual inspections are an important part of transformer condition assessment. Visual inspections allow potential problems to be detected early, which ensures that your equipment performs reliably. The visual inspection can be performed immediately without any great effort after service work has been carried out. This eliminates additional service call charges.
Surface temperatures can be determined using a thermographic measurement. Thermal radiation, invisible to the human eye, is converted by the thermographic camera into visible thermal images. The measurement process is used to reveal anomalies and damage to your transformer that cannot be determined through other methods. Regular thermographic examination can prevent personal injury and property damage and reduce the failure risk of your system.
Analysis of the transformer oil is a tried-and-tested method for assessing the condition of a transformer. We have a global service network and are happy to take oil samples, which are analyzed in accredited oil labs (worldwide). From these samples, we can derive reliable statements and recommendations for action from the analysis results.
For sampling, we exclusively use our own standardized containers/kits and also provide them to you for your own sampling. On our OILTEST online platform, the results of the analysis are documented extensively, graphically processed and provided to you in our customer portal with many functions.
Within our test portfolio, we differentiate between routine electrical tests, fault analyses, condition assessments, commissioning and special measurements.
A variety of electrical tests help you get reliable insight on the operating condition of your transformer. For contact problems, partial discharges, mechanical deformations and more, we identify abnormalities with the help of our electrical tests and initiate suitable countermeasures.
As the operating duration of your transformers increases, byproducts such as gas and moisture start to form in the oil. Increasing moisture in the oil leads to a reduction in oil quality.
Carrying out targeted oil treatments in the form of reconditioning or regeneration based on the conditions of use is therefore recommended to prevent operating problems and to extend service life. We are also experts in smart drying of oil and cellulose in the transformer with the help of a molecular sieve.

TESSA® FLEETSCAN 2D - The digital consulting approach for fleet management of your power transformers
TESSA® FLEETSCAN 2D is a two-dimensional consulting approach for the condition assessment of power transformers. The results of the visual inspection, oil analysis, IR thermography and electrical measurement are taken into consideration to classify the transformer into a 2D matrix. We then create a detailed report with clear recommendations for action to reduce the risk of failure and increase the remaining service life. The budget and resources can thus be allocated in the best way. Learn more about
