Jessica describes how varied her job as a group controller in a global company is and shares her experiences as a woman in a traditionally male-dominated working environment.

What do you enjoy most about your job at MR?
What I particularly like about my job is the perfect mix of my area of responsibility and the mix of focused individual work and teamwork with my colleagues. A good working atmosphere and cooperation with them is very important to me. Regular contact with colleagues from the international subsidiaries and the associated business trips make my job very varied. Since I have been employed, I have always had the opportunity to take on new challenges.
Our new slogan is “Where Power meets Passion”. Where have you already experienced this?
I experience our company motto “Where power meets passion” particularly during the peak phases in controlling - at the end of the year, in the planning rounds and in the projects. A personal highlight for me was providing long-term support to a subsidiary in financial accounting. Thanks to a high level of commitment, very good cooperation between all colleagues and an excellent team spirit, processes were optimized and digitalized.
What personal experience have you had with diversity?
I would particularly like to emphasize the positive corporate culture. At MR, diversity is really present. Our interactions are characterized by maximum personal development for each individual, equal rights and mutual appreciation and respect. I have only had positive experiences so far. As a relatively “young” colleague (< 30), I have always been treated with respect and appreciation. It's a great feeling to know that my colleagues in the department, but also across departments, are interested in my opinions and assessments and that I can express them openly and without hesitation.
