MR named Innovation-Champion 2025
Regensburg, September 20, 2025 – Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) is one of Germany's 30 most innovative medium-sized enterprises. Shortly before its 125th anniversary, MR was named "Innovation-Champion 2025" in the renowned study conducted by Munich Strategy on behalf of Handelsblatt and Wirtschaftswoche.
"Every day at the company, we feel the desire for progress that makes our customers better. The Innovation Champion award is a wonderful confirmation of this," says Dr. Nicolas Maier-Scheubeck, spokesman of the Executive Board of MR. “Since its founding, MR has been a source of world-changing inventions in electrical energy technology. We see ourselves as THE POWER BEHIND POWER. Nearly 5,000 employees at 60 locations worldwide live up to this high standard every day.”
Setting the pace for the industry: confirmed by experts
The study evaluated 4,000 medium-sized companies, 400 of them made it onto the shortlist. The criteria: two-thirds innovative strength, one-third corporate performance (sales growth and EBIT). MR impressed with its excellent innovative vitality, strong perception of innovative strength, and role as the industry's pacemaker. In addition to company data, the jury also took into account expert interviews and discussions with entrepreneurs.
Successful market launch of VACUTAP®VI – further innovations in the pipeline
"We have been shaping the energy market with our innovations for 100 years and are now setting the pace for the all-electric society. The global energy transition is not possible without solutions from Reinhausen," emphasizes Wilfried Breuer, Managing Director Sales & Systems. “With the VACUTAP® VI, we recently presented one of the most exciting and sustainable products in our history and have received enthusiastic feedback from our customers. The award is an incentive for us to continue setting standards, and we have a number of innovations in the pipeline. We are thus seamlessly continuing our pioneering work in the industry with currently more than 1,500 patents.”
Combining economic efficiency and innovation: Top ranking in sales as well
Particularly pleasing: as a newcomer to the top 30, MR ranks second in terms of sales. "Decades of high growth combined with our attractiveness as an employer prove that we are continuously succeeding in translating our drive for innovation into economic success through our solution expertise. We are growing on all three levels: sales, employees, and solutions," says Dr. Maier-Scheubeck.
The award ceremony will take place in the fall. The Innovation-Champion trophy will be given a place of honor in the entrance area of MR's headquarters in Reinhausen.
