Wilfried Breuer joins the MR management board

Effective 1 April 2019, Wilfried Breuer joined the management board of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH (MR).

Breuer, born in 1965, was recently a member of the Executive Board of European transmission grid operator TenneT Holding BV, of the Netherlands. In that role, his duties included responsibility for significant parts of the German transmission grid.

Having earned a diploma in electrical engineering, Breuer has accumulated several decades of experience in high-tech applications in the international energy industry. Prior to his appointment at TenneT, he worked for Siemens AG for 22 years, where he spent some of this time in Africa and Asia and, for the final eight years, as head of the crucial "Power Transmissions Solutions" business unit.

Within the MR management board, which will consist of three persons in the future, Breuer will assume responsibility for the TRANSMISSION and AUTOMATION business units as well as for Sales. Michael Rohde is responsible for the COMPONENTS and POWER business units. As the spokesman of the management board, Dr. Nicolas Maier-Scheubeck remains responsible for the MANUFACTURING business unit and for production and administration.

Dr. Maier-Scheubeck and Mr. Rohde are looking forward to working with their new colleague, saying, "The fact that we have been able to recruit Wilfried Breuer, a top executive in international energy technology, as a managing director speaks to how attractive MR is as an employer. He is an expert who is highly regarded in network planning and operation and in innovative product and large-scale project business, with excellent credentials as a leader."
