Reinhausen Group expands product portfolio for hollow composite insulators
Effective 16 June 2017, the Reinhausen Group headquartered in Regensburg acquired 100% of the shares of MacLean Power France SAS. The production of hollow composite insulators at the Saint-Yorre and Cusset locations in France complements the activities in the area of hollow composite insulators for high-voltage applications. The 60 French employees were notified on 4 May 2017 as part of a works council meeting.
Dr. Nicolas Maier-Scheubeck, speaking for the management of the Reinhausen Group said, "We look forward to expanding our technology portfolio and production capacity in the growing business segment of hollow composite insulators for high-voltage applications. The expertise regarding the HTV extrusion process at the French facilities perfectly complements the LSR injection molding technology used in Regensburg. This will allow us to optimally meet all market requirements of our customers in the future."
The global presence of the Reinhausen Group will open up extensive market access around the world for the new company. The general trend of increasingly replacing ceramic insulators with composite insulators is creating market growth which has led to tentative plans to expand both the Regensburg location as well as capacity in France.
With the completion of this acquisition, French production of hollow composite insulators now operates under the new name of Reinhausen France SAS (RFR) as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH. Management of RFR has been assumed by Marcus Hartmann.
