THE REQUIREMENTS PLACED ON TRANSFORMERS ARE RISING ALL THE TIME
Sprawling cities and the growth of renewable energies mean that transformers are increasingly being used in residential areas and nature and water reserves. The requirements for use in these areas are strict. Standard transformers require elaborate protection from fire and leaks. Flame-retardant and biodegradable isolating fluids make transformers more environmentally-sound and safer and meet the environmental requirements of grid operators. Components tested and approved in-house support the qualification of transformers with alternative isolating fluids for the job in hand.
GUARANTEED RELIABILITY FOR ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY TRANSFORMERS
With vacuum tap-changers there are no switching processes in the transformer oil, just within the vacuum switching chamber. These are therefore the best choice of transformer with alternative isolating fluids. In the Reinhausen test center, VACUTAP® tap-changers undergo extensive and specific tests with alternative isolating fluids to simulate the planned usage conditions. Vacuum tap-changers from MR have for years used a wide variety of isolating fluids, for example synthetic and natural esters. Reinhausen has collaborated with transformer manufacturers and operators to test and approve a range of products for use with a large number of alternative isolating fluids.
