Wilfried Breuer new Chairman of the German CIGRE Committee
There has been a change at the top of the German CIGRE Committee. Wilfried Breuer, Managing Director of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen, is the new Chairman. He took over the position from Dr. Frank Golletz (Technical Managing Director at 50 Hertz), who passed on the honorary office in rotation after three years. Michael Jesberger (Managing Director of TransnetBW) was elected as Vice Chairman. Wilfried Breuer: "Special thanks go to Dr. Golletz for his personal commitment during three difficult years marked by Corona, where both sessions could only be performed in virtual format. Nevertheless, scientific work continued and even new members could be recruited in Germany."
CIGRE is the international forum in the field of electrical power generation, transmission and distribution. The "National Committees" in more than 60 countries play an essential role in CIGRE's work. They represent the technical and organizational interface for the members to the international committees. The interests of the German members are represented by the German Committee of CIGRE at VDE (DK-CIGRE), where the office is also located.
