MR Power Run with record donations
The MR Power Run raises €5,000 for THEO Ostbayern
The Power Run is a great tradition in the Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) event calendar. This year's company run took place last Sunday, June 30, 2024. Over 150 runners of all ages lined up at the starting line in summery conditions and covered different distances around the MR site in Haslbach. In addition to the sporting achievements, the big hearts of the MR employees and their relatives were also impressive: €5,000 was collected for the good cause and handed over to the responsible persons at THEO Ostbayern.

On behalf of the organizers of the MR Power Run, Thomas Feuerer, Michael Dobler and Celine Fruth (from left) presented the donation cheque to Christa and Engelbert Weiß (chairman and media officer of vkm Regensburg).
The new date in June was a real hit. More athletes than ever before gathered at the start/finish area at the MR training center in Eschenbacherstraße. As is tradition, the youngest athletes were the first to start. More than 50 children successfully completed the almost 1,000-meter route along the MR materials management center. At the finish line, each young athlete received a trophy and a finisher gift. The main races around the Mühlberg followed: 6 and 10 km, in both running and Nordic walking. Despite the challenging route, only smiling faces could be seen at the finish line, with the numerous spectators and helpers enthusiastically celebrating the athletes and their achievements. A wide range of refreshments, including bananas, bratwurst rolls, homemade cakes and isotonic drinks, awaited the runners at the finish line. And of course there was also a colorful supporting program. The in-house brass band Musikfabrik Reinhausen provided the musical accompaniment, and for the children there was a bouncy castle, a table football table, face painting and coloring sheets, among other things from the beneficiary of the donations, THEO.
The 12th edition of the Powerlauf was once again focused on supporting social projects, as well as on the fun of getting together with colleagues and friends and getting some exercise. This year, we are supporting THEO. Theo is an initiative of the vkm Regensburg – Verein für körper- und mehrfachbehinderte Menschen e.V. (Association for Physically and Severely Disabled People). The association wants to set up a center for animal-assisted therapy in Regensburg for the eastern Bavarian region. And the MR colleagues donated generously: over €2,000 was collected, and the MR management increased the donation to €5,000. The donation was handed over to THEO's media representative, Engelbert Weiß, and his wife Christa (Vkm chairwoman) on the spot. Christa Weiß was overwhelmed by the MR staff's willingness to donate. "It's just great that you're thinking of us again. MR already collected money for THEO at the employee party. You are helping us to realize our center for animal-assisted therapies and to give many people with physical or mental disabilities a better quality of life and more joy," explains Christa Weiß. "Thank you very much!"
