MR once again „Best Managed Company” “Cleantech”for the energy transition

Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH (MR) has received the ‘Best Managed Companies Award’ for the second time. During a gala at the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten in Frankfurt, the initiators of the competition - Deloitte, UBS, FAZ and BDI - honoured excellent family businesses and hidden champions that have grown sustainably over generations and have achieved a leading position on the global market. The award is intended to serve as an incentive and role model for other companies to shape the future with strategic vision, innovative strength and an outstanding and sustainable management culture.

Dr Nicolas Maier-Scheubeck, CEO of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen, is delighted with the new award: "Climate change is forcing the transition to an “all-electric society” worldwide - accompanied by a rapidly growing and increasingly demanding population. Electrical energy must not only be provided economically and sustainably, but above all it must be safely available. In particular, the move away from fossil fuels will force a doubling of the 80 million kilometres of electricity transmission and distribution grids worldwide by 2050. Managing this growth while simultaneously accelerating the digital transformation represents an enormous organisational challenge. Worldwide, 5,000 employees in 50 value creation centres are working on the future of energy supply - as ‘The Power behind Power’ through customer proximity, innovation and logistics. The ability to develop and market permanently superior ‘cleantech’ solutions in a conservative industry environment stems from the independence and patience of the family business founded in 1868. In this respect, the business purpose, strategy and “Enkelfähigkeit” of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen work together successfully, even in times of climate change and geopolitical, demographic and technological challenges."

BMC Award

The ‘Best Managed Companies Award’ is a competition and seal of quality for sustainably successful medium-sized companies. The vision is to build a national and global ecosystem of excellently managed SMEs. A key unique selling point of the ‘Best Managed Companies Award’ is its international character: launched by Deloitte in Canada in the 1990s, this competition has since been successfully introduced in more than 45 countries. In Germany, the competition was held for the seventh time in 2025.

Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen

Around 50 per cent of the electricity consumed worldwide is controlled by the products of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH. The company, which was founded in Regensburg in 1868, therefore plays an important role in the transmission and distribution of electrical energy and the implementation of the energy transition. In addition to products for regulating load flow and voltage quality, MR and its subsidiaries offer solutions for grid stabilisation and for testing, monitoring and repairing critical grid equipment. Customers include energy producers, public and private grid operators, energy-intensive industrial companies and manufacturers of transformers, switchgear and high-voltage cables.
