Apprentice Florian Buchmeier is Bavaria's best cutting machine operator 2022
As part of the IHK event "Career – Well Done", a total of 21 young people were honored for the best degree in their field in Bavaria in 2022. Among them was Florian Buchmeier, who began his training as a cutting machine operator at Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) in 2018. His award as best in the chamber was now followed by a further recognition of his outstanding performance with the award as best apprentice in the state. Florian Buchmeier currently works at MR as a cutting machine operator.
Excellent training met excellent cuisine at this IHK event. None other than celebrity chef Ludwig "Lucki" Maurer cooked and gave the young trainees not only tips for the kitchen, but also tips for professional life: "If you're passionate about what you do – and also don't forget to keep training so you don't fall by the wayside." That's also important, he said, to not lose the desire and fun of the job. "You can only be successful if you enjoy your work," Maurer said, adding with a grin, "If you do what you love to do every day, you'll never have to work again."
Florian Buchmeier feels the same way: ""Back then, when I sent in my application to become a cutting machine operator, I didn't have the slightest idea what such a person does. Now I know: This surprise to myself definitely succeeded and I already noticed during the training that it is exactly the right thing for me and that I really enjoy my work. That's the most important thing, because only those who find joy in their job also approach it with motivation and a smile."
IHK Chief Executive Dr. Jürgen Helmes also praised the exemplary commitment and high quality of training and continuing education at the training companies.
MR training manager Stefan Thür was particularly pleased for and with Florian about this well-deserved recognition: "This confirms once again that we are creating a very good foundation for the professional future with our training. What is particularly important to all trainers, in addition to professional qualifications, is personality development and team spirit. We want to impart a lot of knowledge and a lot of joy in the job to the young people."
At MR, a total of 98 trainees are currently being prepared for their future tasks in the company in nine industrial and commercial apprenticeships and three dual study programs. As a family-owned company with global operations, MR offers a wide range of development opportunities at home and abroad. The positive personal development of the young trainees is particularly important to the trainers. Great importance is attached to respectful interaction, flat hierarchies, long-term perspectives and independent action.
