OILTAP® M powers China's fastest subway line

With speeds of up to 120 km/h, subway line no. 3 in Guangzhou is China's fastest subway line. The recently continued north subway line now covers a distance of 30.9 km and stretches from the North Railroad Station of Guangzhou to the new buildings of the Guangzhou Baiyun airport. To ensure a reliable, continuous power supply for this line, the subway provider Guangzhou built two 110 kV transformer stations, namely the Wanggang transformer station and the Yanling transformer station. Each of these transformer stations is equipped with two main transformers that have a high voltage of 110 kV and a low voltage of 33 kV. Type OILTAP® M on-load tap-changers from the Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) are installed inside these transformers.

The OILTAP® M on-load tap-changer can look back on a production history of almost forty years during which the OLTCs have always been and will continue to be upgraded with the latest technical developments. Its sophisticated, cutting-edge technology makes the OILTAP® M extremely popular with customers. It is used throughout the entire world. China uses the OILTAP® M in many of its subway projects (e.g., in Chongqing, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Chengdu, among others).
