KEPCO chooses Messko Products

KEPCO (Korea Electric Power Corp.), the public energy provider in South Korea, has a number of older transformers in operation. The company has now decided to extend the service life of these transformers. In addition to other measures, KEPCO has decided to replace the current measuring instruments with products from the MR subsidiary Messko.

The company has now decided to extend the service life of these transformers. In addition to other measures, KEPCO has decided to replace the current measuring instruments with products from the MR subsidiary Messko.

A 166.7 MVA transformer with a voltage of 345KV is the first transformer that has been equipped with Messko products. It is located in the KEPCO Yeong Seo transformer substation and has been in operation since 1980. The following Messko products have been used – COMPACT measuring systems for oil and winding temperature, a MPreC® pressure relief valve and one MTraB® dehydrating breather for both the tap-changer and the transformer tank.

This project represents the very first cooperation between KEPCO and Messko. KEPCO views this implementation as a test run for subsequent continuous use of Messko’s quality products.
