GAUGES FOR OIL LEVEL MEASUREMENT IN TRANSFORMERS
MESSKO oil level indicators of the MTO type series are gauges with or without switching contacts. They perform outstandingly well in applications involving level measurement in the oil conservator of transformers.
DESIGN OF OIL LEVEL INDICATOR FROM THE MTO TYPE SERIES FROM MESSKO
The oil level indicator consists of an sensor part (mounted directly to the vessel wall) and a display part. These parts are connected to each other. The float rod transfers the float's lifting motion to a shaft. This shaft is linked to the indicator axis in the display part via a magnetic coupling.
Drive types of the float
There are two different drive types of the float relative to the oil expansion tank:
- Float movement in radial direction
- Float movement in axial direction
We have compiled additional information about the versions of the float movements and the function of the oil level indicator from the MTO type series in our MTO oil level indicator product flyer.
Installation into the oil expansion tank of transformers
Version "G" is available for installation in narrow or flat oil conservators in which only a small float motion is possible. The float motion here is axial relative to the housing and the display can be replicated in the ratio 1:1, 1:2, 1:3 or 1:4. The level indicators can be supplied with one or two micro-switches:
- MTO-ST160(G): Adjustable limit value switches (max. 2 changeover contacts)
- MTO-STF160(G): Fixed limit value switches (max. 3 changeover contacts)
REMOTE TRANSMISSION OF THE OIL LEVEL
USING THE MTO-TT30 OIL LEVEL INDICATOR
The oil level indicators of the MTO-TT30 series have a measurement and display unit that technically and functionally corresponds to the tried-and-tested MTO series.
In tight space conditions with large transformers, to display the oil level in the remote control room or for connection to a monitoring system, all variants of the oil level indicator for transformers with limit value switches with fixed settings can optionally be equipped with an analog or digital output signal.
Analog and/or digital remote transmission
The TT30 module makes it possible to transmit the analog (0 to 1mA; 0 to 20mA; 4 to 20mA) and/or digital (RS485) oil level remotely to the control cabinet or the control room. To visualize the 4 to 20mA signal, the EI100 or El100/160 electronic display can be used.
