The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) has identified Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) as one of the five best companies in the institute's European consortial benchmarking in technology management. MR and the other recipients 3M Deutschland GmbH, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, Infineon Technologies Austria AG and Robert Bosch GmbH, were awarded for their “Successful Practices” resulting from their outstanding accomplishments.

Together with the University of Wuppertal, Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) has developed a new approach to fleet management and transformer condition assessment. MR has now carried out the first pilot application at the Rheinische NETZGesellschaft (RNG) power utility company during which nine transformers in Cologne were assessed using this approach. The resulting findings made such a positive impression on the management at RNG that MR has since been tasked with expanding the assessment to cover a majority of the entire fleet.

The Offenbach an der Queich II wind farm is an excellent example of the regional energy transition in Germany. In the southern part of Rhineland-Palatinate, 13,800 households receive clean wind power from six power plants that produce more than 40 million kilowatt-hours of power annually. A high-frequency filter system from Power Quality is on hand to provide clean power grids in the frequency range up to 9 kHz. It is the very first high-frequency filter system in a wind farm.
