Dr. Uwe Kaltenborn (Head of Corporate Technology of the Reinhausen Group) with Mark Snook (right, Head of Technology of Amantys Power Electronics) look forward to their future cooperation and the further development of innovative technologies.

In April 2015, Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) acquired all ntellectual property rights, including patents and brands, of Amantys Ltd. (Cambridge, Great Britain), along with the bulk of the company's technical facilities and equipment. MR, a traditional family-run company headquartered in Regensburg, Germany, is the world market leader in the regulation of power transformers with on-load tap-changers. This acquisition marks the completion of another important stage in the implementation of its long-term technology strategy.

Amantys Ltd. brought many great new technologies to market featuring intelligent drivers for power electronic components (IGBTs, for example). The technologies acquired are an important element as the Reinhausen Group expands its skills and expertise for application in power electronics. The acquisition opens up a wide variety of new technological possibilities for expansion and optimization of the future product and application portfolio.

These technical possibilities should be brought back to market as quickly as possible, which will happen under the roof of  Amantys Power Electronics Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary in Cambridge, Great Britain founded by Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH on May 19, 2015. The company's areas of activity will include research and development as well as the manufacture, marketing, and sales of products and services for power electronics and the regulation and control of electrical networks. Operations shall start by mid June. The team will include a number of employees who previously held important positions at Amantys Ltd. One of the first steps will be to reactivate and optimize the existing product portfolio. At the same time, innovative technologies will be further developed as a collaborative effort between development partners and customers.

For customers of Amantys Power Electronics Ltd., the involvement of MR will safeguard the continued development of established technologies in the field of power electronics. In MR, Amantys Power Electronics Ltd. has a strong owner with a long-term vision which, as world market leader in the regulation of power transformers, enjoys an excellent reputation in the industry. Since its foundation in 1868, the company, headquartered in Regensburg, Germany, has grown continuously and today is present on the market with 30 affiliated companies. A total of some 3,000 employees achieve an annual turnover in excess of 650 million Euros.
