STABLE AND VERSATILE POWER SUPPLY
REINHAUSEN solutions for equipment in ports
POWER FOR A WIDE RANGE OF CONSUMERS
Electrically-powered cranes, cooling systems, and increasingly the ships themselves in ports need a supply of electricity. Global efforts to improve air quality and protect the climate are seeing more and more ports offer on-shore power, also known as cold ironing. Depending on the type and size of ship, different connection ratings, voltage levels or grid frequencies have to be available. In the future, 100% electric ships will also have to be quickly supplied with huge amounts of power. The drives of port cranes create increased demand for reactive power and, if they are speed-controlled, also cause harmonics in the grid. Appropriate compensation systems and filters can prevent equipment failure, comply with grid connection requirements, and cut electricity costs.
ROBUST SOLUTIONS FOR SUPPLYING POWER IN PORTS
Reinhausen delivers a cost-effective power supply solution for various consumers in ports. Our on-load tap-changers control the voltage in the transformer stations on the quay and at the connection point to the public grid with tried and tested reliability. The virtually maintenance-free, vacuum technology tap changers are also suited to hermetic and dry-type transformers or transformers with alternative insulating liquids for use when more stringent fire and environmental protection requirements apply. Voltage filters and systems for reactive power compensation from Reinhausen Power Quality keep the line voltage stable and compensate for the demand for reactive power. With their traditionally high quality, our products also withstand the rough ambient conditions experienced in ports. If particularly high resistance to salt water is needed, our offshore measuring technology is a good choice. And our global service team is of course always on hand.
