Two West Coast LTCs Successfully Paralleled After a Five-Year Hiatus
In early December 2007, Reinhausen once again proved why its automatic voltage regulating controller, the TAPCON® 250, is a perfect retrofit solution for North American LTCs. Reinhausen's TC250-80 adapter panel was used to easily retrofit two twenty-eight year old General Electric controllers. The TC250-80 adapter panel features four rear studs and optional bottom mounting for ideal replacement of General Electric static LTC regulators and controls. The 18-point terminal block located at the top of the controller allows all significant control cabinet wiring to remain as it was prior to the retrofit. One of many retrofit solutions, the TC250-80 panel can be assembled with many different options, including high quality pre-wired Remote/Local, Auto/Manual, Manual Raise/Manual Lower, and Parallel/Independent selector switches, and Drag Hands Reset options. The panels come standard with three binding posts for PT measurement, isolated external potential input, and isolated external motor power supply as well as fused motor power and voltage input protection.

Another Perfect Fit: A Twenty-Seven Year Old McGraw Edison LTC Gets a New Controller
In Fall 2007, a southeastern United States utility improved a vital part of its power system by retrofitting two of Reinhausen's TAPCON® 250 automatic voltage regulating controllers with TC250-ME adapter panels in place of two pre-existing McGraw Edison controllers. One of many of the TAPCON® 250's retrofitting options, the TC250-ME adapter panel features a hinged door design that perfectly mounts to the McGraw Edison 550 BHS LTC controller chassis and provides standard Local/Remote, Auto/Manual, and (Raise)/Off/(Lower) switches along with testing terminals and a fuse block to replace the corresponding features of the old design.

Fully Integrated for the VACUTAP® On-Load Tap-Changer: TAPCON®250
Here is a valuable opportunity to take advantage of Reinhausen's reliable and proven quality in on-load tap-changers as well as voltage regulation. With acute accuracy and precision, the specialists at Reinhausen manufacturing, configure and test the VACUTAP® RMV tap-changer along with the TAPCON®250 before it departs from the factory.

A perfect retrofit solution: TAPCON® 250
A major West coast utility was recently very satisfied when the MR specialists completed their work practically in one day earlier this summer. Three TAPCON®250 digital tap changer controllers, specifically designed for North American utilities, were used to replace three competitor's controllers. This took place in a substation of three power transformers with load tap changers originally intended to be operated in parallel. Upon completing the installation, the utility was relieved to have not only solved their voltage regulation issues but also substantially simplified their scheme.
