30.06.2009 Special Solution: Mobile Transformer Station for Chile An exceptional technical challenge was presented by the mobile transformer that the Chilean energy concern EMEL commissioned Rhona, the largest producer of transformers in Chile, to produce. The conditions: the 30MVA transformer needed to be henceforth freely utilized and provide controlled voltage for the undervoltage-side in both 66 kV and 100 kV network.

28.05.2009 MR Technology for Germany's First Underground Transformer Station Germany's first underground transformer station is taking shape right now in the heart of Frankfurt's financial district. Mainova - the local power provider - ordered three modern 50 MVA transformers to replace their old 40 MVA predecessors. The reason for the new underground construction was the extreme scarcity of space in the city. For on-load tap-changers and the protective equipment, transformer manufacturer Siemens (Dresden) picked the VACUTAP® VRCIII 400Y-123 and Messko's oil thermometer. The 85-ton transformers have been installed in the meantime and equipping the transformers is currently underway. This involves, among other things, the installation of the oil conservator and the pipes.

A hotel, a few dry lectures and then an evening event during which you socialize. The MRcademy in Vienna proved that it can be done very differently. With the generous support of the Wienenergie Wienstrom GmbH, MR invited everyone to a transformer station in the middle of the 22nd district of the Austrian capital.
