Korea

Hi, my name is Felix and I’m studying Management and Technology at the Technical University in Munich. I’ve gotten the chance to do an internship at the subsidiary of MR in Seoul, South Korea for two months. It was my first visit in Asia and all my expectations regarding the country, the people and my internship have been exceeded. I worked in the Sales Department and was responsible for incoming customer queries. Furthermore, I was involved in the preparation process of the fair SIEF and also had the possibility to participate. During a business trip I got the opportunity to get in touch with customers and to learn more about the work as a salesman. Altogether, South Korea is a very interesting country, because of the modern lifestyle and the traditional customs, both coexisting at the same time.

Hello, my name is Andreas, I`m 27 year old and currently a 5th semester student of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Regensburg. Since I have known MR from my time as an apprentice of industrial mechanic and subsequently four years of work in the test center, it was clear to me that I would like to complete my internship again at MR.
As soon as I received the confirmation, there was nothing in the way for a 20 weeks stay in Seoul, South Korea. At Reinhausen Korea Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of MR, I was immediately warmly welcomed and soon integrated in the daily work. My tasks, for example, consisted in the processing of inquiries, the preparation and participation in an exhibition and a customer visit, as well as a one- week stay in the service office, which is located in Busan. There, I was able to visit a steel factory and watch a tap-changer maintenance.
In retrospect, it was a really exciting time in which I was able to experience a lot and I really don`t want to miss it. Culturally and culinary Seoul has a lot to offer so that with its 24 million inhabitants in the metropolitan area you are constantly able to explore something new around every corner.

Hi, my name is Tobias.
In the middle of April, I got the possibility to gain work experience in South-Korea. The team of RKR welcomed me warmly and included me in the daily workflow right from the beginning. One of many highlights of my internship was the trip to Ulsan to Hyundai Heavy Industries. After the presentation of the new TAPCON, my colleagues and I were guided through the biggest coherent transformer factory in the world and gained some valuable insights in the assembly of MR products. Furthermore, I was able to gain practical field experience by supporting the maintenance of an OILTAP V for the Korean District Heating Corp. Beside work, I discovered the rich variety of Korea in cultural, culinary and scenic regards.
