The Turkish transformer manufacturer Best Transformers has honoured Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) with the Supplier Excellence Award as “Supplier of 2009” for their excellent performance and commitment to top-quality.

A delegation of the MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC Co. (AKO factory) recently visited MR in Regensburg. The reason for the trip was a quality audit which the Japanese guests conducted in accordance with Mitsubishi criteria for the “implementation of a quality management system for foreign suppliers.” MR received the certification with a very good evaluation.

ON·LOAD, the customer magazine of the REINHAUSEN Group, was presented with the BCP award in silver and became one of the best company publications of the year 2009. On June 30, 2010 the jury of the largest competition for company communication in Europe announced the winners at a festive evening presentation in Hamburg. ON·LOAD received a silver award in the category of “Best Cross Media Solution.” More than 600 publications had been submitted for consideration.

Two superlative-class power plants are currently being built in the Mojave Desert in the USA: the world’s largest wind park project with 1,550 MW and a solar power plant with 850 MW. The Mojave Desert is primarily known as the valley of death with its extreme temperatures. And the dimensions of both these projects are also extreme.

Actually the maintenance that the service technicians of M-T Servis, MR’s Croatian representative, performed on August 12, 2010 in the vicinity of Zagreb was just a normal service inspection. However, this on-load tap-changer was anything but normal since it was made in the year 1954 and is thus one of the oldest on-load tap-changers in the world.

Developing countries with their fast-growing economies are the target group of the Turkish Karadeniz Powership Company. The idea: It often takes a very long time to build new power plants on dry land. So why not take a floating power plant and go where the need is currently particularly great?

More than a year ago, to be more exact during June of 2009, the presentation of the new TAPCON® 230 series took place at the TRANSFORM in Rome. Market introduction and start of delivery for the new voltage regulator series occurred several months later. In the meantime, a year has passed – time to briefly take stock. And the picture looks extremely positive. Since market introduction, MR has delivered, installed and commissioned approximately 1000 devices from the new electronics series – without a single technical complaint.

With their hollow composite insulators known under the name ReCoTec®, Reinhausen Power Composites (RPC) offers their customers technologically superior, high quality insulators for all types of high voltage devices. The extremely powerful hollow insulators guarantee long life and offer a maximum in security. In contrast to conventional porcelain insulators, the hollow composite insulators from RPC are much lighter, less sensitive to damage and earthquakes and even retain their hydrophobic properties (i.e., their excellent insulation capacities) when very dirty.

Konrad Roider, Regional Sales Director Asia Pacific of MR, is the first foreigner to speak in front of the Electric Technology Research Association (abbreviated ETRA) since its foundation in 1933 in Tokyo, Japan.

Reinhausen Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd (RAP) took another step forward to foster a truly customer-focused culture in providing a customised training. Since early 2010, Reinhausen Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd (RAP) has been collaborating with TNB Integrated Learning Solution Sdn Bhd (ILSAS), the official training institute for Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the main power utility company in Malaysia, in providing customized training for their employees from the TNB Transmission Division. The collaboration is meant to enhance the existing relationship between MR/RAP & TNB.

The MRcademy®, our worldwide customer academy, was held for the first time on Canadian soil in Montreal on June 1 and 2, 2010. One hundred and thirty-five guests, mainly employees of power supply companies but also from industry and transformer manufacturers and even a few customers from the USA, attended the event. The program offered many highlights.

The Reinhausen Group will be represented at the CEPSI in Taipei, Taiwan from October 25th to 28th, 2010. In addition to Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen with its business divisions Transformer Control and Power Quality, Reinhausen Power Composites will also be appearing at the CEPSI and introducing its products to specialist visitors.
