Transformer Control

MTraB® DB 100

We launched our MTraB® dehydrating breather more than six years ago. Since then, we have sold almost 10 000 devices around the globe. We have used this period to incorporate your extensive customer feedback into an improved product generation.

Our zero-maintenance, sensor-controlled MTraB® dehydrating breathers are the result of this ongoing development and will be available from 01.07.2009 with the following improvements to handling and functionality:

Ø  All MTraB® variants now feature a new DIN flange, which can be fitted with a defined torque. This ensures that the flange is tightly fitted and there is no risk of infiltrated air

Ø  We have replaced our sinter metal filter with a high-quality, newly designed stainless steel filter

Ø  The moisture and temperature sensor system now has a modular design, making it easy to replace if necessary

Ø  All status LEDs are now housed in the terminal box, preventing external damage

Ø  It is now easier to determine the status of the MTraB®. The three LEDs help you to easily identify the different system statuses. A more detailed description is provided on the inside of the terminal box

Ø   If the supply voltage fails, the error relay is activated after a slight delay, which is helpful if you need to shut down the supply voltage to your transformer for a short time

Ø  To protect against overvoltage, the MTraB® now features a microfuse and an additional built-in line filter, which makes even failures caused by high-frequency interference a thing of the past.

If you open the terminal box, the improvements are clear to see:

Ø   We were able to do away with the green power LED in the box because the operating state can be clearly identified from the status LED.

Ø   If you need to be able to connect to a supply voltage higher than that provided, we have provided an additional 2a terminal (“L” marking), to which you can connect the optional upstream transformer.

The following adjustments have been made to the options:

Ø   Due to high customer demand, you can now order MTraB® with an optional integrated test button. This allows you to carry out a self-test at any time and to check the functions, like the relay circuits, the heating or the signal transmission in the control room.

Ø   The “transfer of temperature value in pipe via RS485” variant has been discontinued due to insufficient demand.

Ø   For special applications, for example, transformers installed underground, there’s a new version of the MTraB® with a ball cock valve (Gamma control). Please direct any questions you have to your contact person in the Messko sales department.

A detailed description of the changes and the new options can be found in the current operating instructions.

We’ll be happy to help if you have any further questions about the MTraB® or other products.
