A flair for invention, solidarity, continuity
These are the constants that have marked the success of the Maschinenfabrik Reinshausen GmbH (MR) right from the very start and that are still decisive for the REINHAUSEN Group even today.
Ingenious invention just at the right moment
The nucleus of the group of companies is to be found in the Reinhausen district of Regensburg. Cleaving frame saws for wood processing were produced here from the foundation in the year 1868 onwards. Andreas Scheubeck changed the name of the company to Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) in 1901. In 1926 Dr. Bernhard Jansen invented the high-speed resistor-type tap-changer that allowed the turn ratio of transformers to be changed under load without interruption. In cooperation with the brother Oskar and Richard Scheubeck, this product ultimately became renowned all over the world under the name of “REINHAUSEN on-load tap-changer”.
An idea on the path of success
The period after the end of the second world war saw a boom in the demand for on-load tap-changers. In the year 1953 Oskar and Richard Scheubeck built a modern factory that was continuously expanded in the years that followed. Leaps in product technology and consistent internationalisation of the company set further milestones along the path of the company’s successful history that continues right up to today. In the meantime MR has become the core of the REINHAUSEN Group, a family run business that has remained independent since 1868.
