Last week, Regensburg's Lord Mayor Hans Schaidinger traveled with a delegation of city, university and business representatives to the eight-million metropolis of Qingdao in China. Also traveling with the group was Managing Director Michael Rohde of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen.
The purpose of the trip was to sign a city partnership agreement between Regensburg and Qingdao. The partnership with Qingdao is Regensburg's eighth city partnership and it is intended to be a true economic partnership. Regensburg wants to profit from China's huge economic strength.
The travel program also included a guided tour of the MR plant in Suzhou. Managing Director Rohde said MR is already very well represented on the Chinese market. "26,000 on-load tap-changers from Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen are already located in China," he explained. During the tour, the group of visitors surrounding Lord Mayor Schaidinger were able to gain insights into MR production at this Chinese location.
